Ich war auf dem Weg vom Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple ins Zentrum von Trivandrum, als sich ein dunkler Schatten über mich legte. Ich habe mich kurz erschreckt. Aber unbegründet, es war nur ein Elefant der mich überholte. Es sah so normal aus – ein Elefant im Verkehr. Vorschriftsmäßig geht er links.

I was on my way from Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple into the center of Trivandrum, as a dark shadow fell upon me.For a moment I was scared. But without reason, it was only an elephant which overtook me. It looked so everyday – an elephant in traffic. According to the trafic rules he walked on the left.

Die momentanen Temperaturen tragen nicht zu meinem Wohlgefühl bei. Gerne wäre ich jetzt an diesem Strand und würde dem Tanker zusehen wie er an der untergehenden Sonne vorbeifährt.

Trotz Schneechaos habe ich auf meiner Heimfahrt von Düsseldorf nach München die schönsten Wolkenlandschaften gesehen. Das wechselnde Licht war sehr beeindruckend.

Despite snow chaos on my way home from Düsseldorf to Munich I saw the most beautiful cloud landscapes. The changing light was very impressive.

Heute bin ich mit dem Gedanken aufgewacht, an einem Bild
aus der Südsee zu arbeiten. Mit Blick auf den herrlicher Schnee
war mir das nicht möglich. Manchmal muss man das Umfeld einfach ausblenden, so wie meine Nichte, das heutige Model.

Today I woke up with the idea of working on a picture from the South Pacific. With the view of gorgeous snow it was not possible. Sometimes you just have to blind out the environmen. So does today's model, my niece.

Amaryllis

Eine meiner Lieblingsblumen ist die Amaryllis. Ihr leuchtendes Rot ist ein herrlicher Kontrast zum winterlichen Grau. In den letzten Tagen konnte ich mich nicht meinen daily paintings widmen, da ich mit einer Auftragsarbeit beschäftigt war und bin. Es wird noch einige Zeit dauern bis ich sie zeigen kann.

One of my favorite flowers is the amaryllis. Their bright red is
a delightful contrast to the wintry gray. During the last days I couldn't work on my daily paintings, because of a commission work. It will take a while until I can post it.

Gemütliche Festtage mit leckerem Essen haben mich zu meinem heutigen Daily Painting inspiriert. Die Physalis gab als Dekoration zu den leckeren Nachspeisen. Auch zum Malen sind sie ein Genuss.

Pleasant holidays with delicious food inspired me to my Daily Painting today. The Physalis were a decoration for the delicious desserts. Also, they are a pleasure to paint.

Die Zeit vor Weihnachten ist meist nicht mehr besinnlich.
Aber die herrlichen Gerüche von Lebkuchen, der Duft von Clementinen und Orangen sind geblieben.

Blumen in Rot

Gestern war die längste Nacht des Jahres. Nun werden die Tage wieder länger und ich kann jeden Tag ein bißchen länger bei Tageslicht malen. Das hat mich gleich in Frühlingslaune versetzt und deshalb die Blumen.

Yesterday was the longest night of the year. Now the days are getting longer and I can paint every day a little bit longer by daylight. This has moved me immediately into spring mood and therefore the flowers.

Cook Islands, Aitutaki: Es ist traumhaftes Wetter. Einheimische Musik kommt aus einer Bar. Im Schatten der Veranda übt ein kleines Mädchen den Tanz, den sie am Abend für die Touristen vorführen wird. Perfekt bewegt sie sich zur Musik.

Cook Islands, Aitutaki: It's fantastic weather. Native music comes from a bar. In the shade of the veranda a little girl is exercising the dance she will perform for the tourists in the evening. She moves perfect to the music.

Deshalb verhält sie sich auch wie eine kleine italienische Prinzessin und regiert die ganze Familie ... Logisch! Sie ist zum Liebhaben!

Italy, Recanati. This is a small Italian princess with her mother. Or more precisely, she is treated by the whole family like a princess and so she behaves like an Italian princess and rules the whole family ... Logical! She is easy to love!

Sonnenuntergang

Das war einer der spannendsten Sonnenuntergänge, die ich je gesehen habe. Die Wolken zogen so schnell vorüber. In 30 Minuten war die Sonne mehrmals komplett verdeckt und es wurde dunkel. Starke Regenschauer fielen auf uns herab und doch gaben wir die Hoffnung nicht auf. Bis zur letzten Minute war es nicht klar, ob wir beobachten können, wie die Sonne im Meer versinkt. Nass bis auf die Haut, aber glücklich haben wir diesen herrlichen Sonnenuntergang genossen.

That was one of the most exciting sunsets I have ever seen. The clouds were moving so fast. Within 30 minutes the sun was completely covered several times and it got dark. Heavy rain was pouring down on us but we didn’t give up hope. Until the last minute it was not clear if we could see the sun setting into the sea. Soaked to the skin but happy, we enjoyed this beautiful sunset.

Byron Bay ist ein Ort, wo viele Reisende einwenig länger bleiben
als geplant. Good Vibrations! Bei mir wurden aus 3 geplanten Tagen
12 Tage. Die Sonne beim Leuchtturm aufgehen zu sehen ist mit Sicherheit ein Grund dafür.

Byron Bay is a place where many travelers stay a bit longer
than planned. I guess good Vibrations! My idea was 3 days
but I stayed 12 days. To see the rising sun at the Lighthouse is certainly one reason.

Gestern hatte Nene Cabrónata , eine Freundin von mir, einen Auftritt in einer kleinen Bar in Schwabing. Wann immer es mir möglich ist, bin ich unter den Zuhörern. Immer wieder bin ich von ihrer Ausdruck und ihrer Stimme berührt. In manchen Momenten, scheint es, sie singt für sich und genau dann gehen ihre Songs dem Publikum unter die Haut.

Yesterday Nene Cabrónata , a friend of mine, had a small concert in a pub in Schwabing. Whenever I am able to be among the crowd, I listen to her music. Once again I am touched by her expressions and her voice. In some moments, it seems she only sings for herself, and this is exactly when her songs touch the audience.

Das ist einer meiner Lieblingsstrände. Hier bin ich stundenlange spazieren gegangen. Das Wasser ist glasklar und mit vielen Fischen und kleinen Rochen. Wer immer das Boot bemalt hat, er hat genau den Farbton des Meeres getroffen.

This is one of my favorite beaches. I had walks here for hours long. The water is crystal clear and full of small fish and stingrays. Whoever painted the boat hit the perfect colour of the sea.

Sie werden von Ihren Besitzern von oben bis unten geschrubbt. Es scheint ihnen zu gefallen. Das Aufregendste an diesem Morgen ist eine Mutter und ihr Baby. Das Kleine hat anderes im Sinn als sich waschen zu lassen und erforscht stattdessen die Umgebung. Die Mutter wird unruhig und ich muss mich auf einen sicheren Punkt zurückziehen. Every morning at 5.00 clock just north of Chiang Mai, elephants passing the River. It is cool and quiet. They are getting scubbed from top to bottom by there owner, which seems to please them. The most exciting in this morning is a mother with her baby. The little elephant has other things in mind than get washed and explores instead the area.
